Subject Leadership Residentials take place each summer, offering a space for subject leaders from across the country to gain valuable insights from well-regarded speakers.

Explore ways to make a broad and deep study of your subject engaging, rewarding and inspiring for all young people, whatever their ability.

  • The Residential consists of:
  • An induction to the PTI Subject Leadership Programme
  • Talks and presentations from high profile subject experts
  • Workshops focused on developing an enriching curriculum
  • One-to-one consultation with an experienced head of department
  • Access to a national network of like-minded subject leaders

Award of the PTI Mark

The PTI Mark recognises excellent subject provision

Members of the Subject Leadership Programme embark on an action-based research project. The PTI Mark is awarded to recognise progress and commitment. The Mark is achieved by focusing on: coherence and a quality of challenge within the curriculum; extending and enthusing pupils with activities that go beyond the curriculum; development and exploration of teachers' own specialist subject knowledge; and raising the profile of their subject within education.
