The PTI wish to celebrate schools that share our values; we believe long-term commitment to embedding The PTI philosophy into educational practice creates real impact. We want to recognise the courage and initiative of schools who empower inspirational teaching and subject specific pedagogy.

"Bradfields Academy is honoured to have been recognised as a Spotlight School for our work with The PTI.

Bradfields Academy is a proud member of Fortis Trust, which is the lead provisions for the Medway and Kent PTI Hub. This hub encapsulates everything Bradfields Academy strives towards, in offering bespoke education opportunities for students, through high-level training of our staff.

With The PTI, our staff have the opportunity to attend three in-person sessions with two expert speakers, who provide innovative and bespoke training which can be easily applied across the academy, both in our Primary and Secondary sections, as well as the variety of communities we have, which include a range of different neurodiverse students.

In a recent session, we were honoured to have Ryan Ball from the D&T Association speak. Further to this, our teacher Mr Walker presented to Ryan, the delegates and The PTI staff about how he has made his D&T classroom more accessible for students across the academy; ranging from wheelchair access on benches, to adaptions for students who struggle with holding tools.

Alongside this, our staff all have access to the virtual hubs, which take place throughout the year. This is a great opportunity for not only our teachers to gain training, but also out Teaching Assistant Team. These sessions are highly engaging and, again, work closely with the delegates to ensure that the information being presented is beneficial and easy to implement within their classrooms.

The PTI has had a large impact on our teaching practices, with a variety of staff members implementing their findings across their subject department and to the wider community. These sessions have encouraged our staff to feel braver in thinking outside of the box and bringing in unique approaches to engaging the students in their lessons.

We want to thank The PTI and Fortis Trust for bringing this initiative to Medway & Kent and helping us to provide unique and bespoke training for our staff team"
