The PTI is delighted to announce Meridian Primary School as the winner of the Primary Impact Award 2026/27.

The school has been recognised for its work to build staff confidence in teaching textiles, using a PTI Primary Hub Art Day as a springboard for developing subject knowledge and raising expectations across the school.

Meridian Primary School is a diverse, one-form-entry community school with specialist provision for deaf children. Through its engagement with The PTI, the school has significantly strengthened staff confidence in teaching textiles and raised creative expectations across all year groups, supporting pupils to develop their knowledge, skills and creativity.

The Primary Impact Award celebrates excellence in primary leadership, recognising primary schools that put high-quality subject teaching at the heart of the classroom.

Jo Graham, Executive Headteacher of Meridian Primary School, said: "Winning The PTI Primary Impact Award is a fantastic celebration of our collaborative learning community in action. Engagement with The PTI has empowered our teaching team to continually review and adapt our ambitious, creative curriculum through which our children's knowledge, confidence, and pride have truly flourished."

Dr Cat Scutt MBE, CEO of The PTI, said: ‘Meridian Primary School is a fantastic example of how professional collaboration and a focus on subject knowledge can make a lasting difference to teaching and learning.
