The continuing Royal Patronage of King Charles III was confirmed by Buckingham Palace following a review of over 1,000 patronages of The late Queen, The former Prince of Wales, and The former Duchess of Cornwall. The announcement marks the first anniversary of Their Majesties’ Coronation.
The PTI was founded by King Charles (as the former Prince of Wales) to inspire teachers about the subjects they teach. In 2023, over 400 schools in England and Wales were involved with The PTI.
Speaking about the news, PTI Co-Director Dr Hugh Rayment-Pickard MBE, said: ‘We are proud and privileged that His Majesty The King will continue as Royal Founding Patron. His Majesty founded the PTI and has been a constant source of encouragement and guidance. We are delighted that he will continue to support us to inspire teachers in the years ahead.’
Keith Breslauer, Chair of The PTI added, “We are very pleased to relay the announcement that His Majesty The King will continue as The Royal Founding Patron of the PTI. We are honoured that the PTI can continue to grow and provide positive impact to teachers across the country, impacting over 350,000 young people annually.”
